Veetee foods – microwaveable rice

As a member of the Microwave Technologies Association I was fortunate to attend our last quarterley meeting which was hosted by Veetee Foods this week. The meeting was really useful. Its always nice to catch up with like minded colleagues. The Microwave Technologies Association is very active in educating the public in all aspects of microwave ovens and I hope to be able to pass and promote the benefits of using microwave ovens to even greater effect.

After our meeting we were introduced to Steve Austin who is the Production Manager at the plant in Rochester. He showed us through the process of making quality savoury rice. We had a ‘taste test’ of Veetee rice compared to two of their competitors and it had to be said that Veetee was by far the best. Following that Steve gave us a tour of the Milling plant, taking us through the whole process right up to packaging the finished product ready for the shops.

Veetee make microwaveable pre cooked rice which is easily reheated in the microwave and also make dry rice that can either be boiled traditionally or cooked in a microwave steamer from scratch.
