Are you making the most out of your microwave?

Forget the old stereotype that microwaves are only for heating up boring, unhealthy microwave meals for one; it’s capable of far more…

With the right cookware, you can create delicious meals from scratch that can be healthy, nutritious and quick to make.

But the power of a microwave doesn’t stop there… Here are some creative uses for your microwave oven which you might not have thought of before.

Brighten up your old clothes – Transform t-shirts in a matter of minutes by dyeing them in your microwave. All you need to do is prepare the fabric by scrunching, knotting, twisting or folding and then tie the fabric tightly.

Make sure you wear a pair of rubber gloves, then empty a pack of fabric dye into a bowl and add 250ml warm water. Stir until the dye is fully dissolved. Continue to add a further 250ml, then put the bowl into a plastic freezer bag and microwave on high for four minutes.

Remove from the microwave and rinse the fabric under cold water until it runs clear. Then untie the fabric and dry away from direct heat or sunlight.
